Assistant Buyer/Product Manager

Due to business growth and development at our head office, we are offering a rare opportunity to join our team. The successful candidate will ideally have previous farming experience and will be responsible assisting in the strategic planning, sourcing, purchasing, stock control and sales of a huge range of farming and countryside products.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and be able to work flexibly within a close-knit and experienced team, as well as the ability to think independently and carry out tasks with attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Support buying team with daily sourcing of products and
  • Review pricing and product range within the stores
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss opportunities and develop the range
  • Develop relationships across the business, including with our store teams to gather information on requirements and stock availability
  • General administrative duties within the buying and management teams

Experience:

  • Experience of the agricultural sector would be beneficial
  • An affinity with the product range sold by TFM
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and understand the seasonal variability of product range and customer demand

Role-specific training will be provided and there is an opportunity for ongoing development and career progression within the business.

This is a full-time, in-person, Monday to Friday role and you must be able to reliably commute to our head office at WV15 5HP.

Sales Assistant – Penkridge

We are seeking a full-time sales assistant to work at our Penkridge store and our Building & Landscaping Yard (Dunston).
The right applicant will have a customer first helpful approach and enjoys a varied role.
The successful candidate will:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Be a team player who is positive and motivated with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Be able and willing to help customers with heavy items (25kg bags etc). Operating our ‘Carry to Car’ service.
  • Ideally have experience of the agricultural or construction sector.
  • Be able to operate sales tills and answer telephone calls.
  • Make deliveries with our express vehicle (pickup)
Hours: A rolling two-week rota. Monday – Saturday (one hour lunch break) and Sunday 10:00 – 16:00 (half an hour lunch break), with a fixed day off in the week the first week. Monday – Friday (one hour lunch break) with a fixed day of in the week for the second week.
Must be 18 or over with a full driving license and be able to lift and carry 25kg bags.
